The quantitative research
objectives consisted of 1) studying the learning of students in Research
Methods course 2) investigating students' attitude towards e-learning materials
and blended learning approach, and 3) finding ways to improve learning and
teaching of the course. The population was 31 Business English undergraduate
students enrolling in the course, in semester 1/2020. The research tool was
students’ attitude questionnaire towards e-learning materials and blended learning methods. The research results showed
that 1) students took regularly both normal and virtual classes 4 hours per
week, studied e-learning materials independently on average 1.62 times a week,
the midterm examination
average score was 54.35% and the final examination average score was 71.46%. All student groups
successfully conducted a research. 2) The overall average level of students’ satisfaction towards
e-learning materials and blended learning approach was at a high level (µ = 4.41, SD = 0.65).
Two issues at the highest levels were the content of the online lessons covering
the topics specified in the course descriptions and the content was consistent
with the course objectives. Students' satisfaction and positive attitudes
towards the course, teaching methods, and teachers were crucial factors
affecting their learning. 3) Approaches for developing learning and teaching the course were to use blended learning methods because
revisiting lessons facilitated learning difficult contents, to add Thai
translation in textbook, e-learning contents and tests, and to strengthen the
network performance stability. In conclusion, blended learning methods had
beneficial effects on students’ achievement in this course.
